Battle Royale

Battle royale is a Japanese film in which a class of seemingly normal students are sent on a school trip, we learn a little about there love life and about the main characters narrative and a bit about his relationship with his father. While on the way to the trip they are drugged and put to sleep, when they awake they find themselves in a room full of guards and a collar attached to their necks with their old 7th grade teacher who is directing them towards a video. This introduces them to the battle royale where they find out they must essentially kill each other and battle to the death with only one winner, as well as the class there is two transfer students both of which willingly agreed to go with their own agenda. They get given packs full of survival equipment and each of them get one weapon with anything from a frying pan or GPS to a crossbow or gun. They then go out into this deserted island and fight to the death. There are danger zones which the kids can’t be in which means they have to always keep on the move, some try to kill each other mercilessly and others stick together and try to be kind which works in some people’s favour but others not so much. In the end the protagonist and his two friends are the on to survive and “win” the game although one dies of his injuries. As the two main characters cheated the game they were named fugitives and had to go on the run.
